PRES 1

“Out of the box – Creativity and communication for international youth NGOs and projects”

Aim

To improve the knowledge of participants on possible useful tools about online Media and PR and to let them experience the implementation of these techniques To increase the visibility and outreach of youth organisations and their international projects through increasing the knowledge and skills of the participants in the field of creativity and communication in order to create more impact on society.

Objectives

- To increase participants’ knowledge and skills about communication channels, creativity, basics of successful dissemination of results, intercultural communication, practical skills in fields of dealing with media, presentation techniques, giving feedback, motivation techniques and working methods in a multi-cultural environment.

- To provide youth workers with the knowledge, skills and tools to develop, implement and evaluate communication measures within their own local, regional or international environment.

- To equip participants with knowledge and information needed for  independent creation and execution of Internal and External Public Relations strategy

- To enable participants to conduct effective public awareness campaigns in local level and European Level ( how does PRWG Function)

- To create the environment to discuss why developing corporate image and identity is important for an NGO and how it could be developed

- To raise the awareness of participants about different kinds of Public Relations tools and give them the hints on how to find and create innovative PR tools,

- To improve the knowledge of participants about different techniques that could be used to evaluate a Public Relations strategy

TC Duration

Eight full working days - participants arrival is 21st November until evening departure 29th November from morning 2009.

(Participants are expected to come on 21th November latest and leave on 29th November)

TC Place

The Netherlands- Leiden.
 
 
FINANCIAL CONDITIONS

Accommodation, meals, training materials and social program will be provided by AEGEE – Leiden and Participation fee is 60 Euros.

There is NO travel Reimbursement

SELECTION PROCEDURE

The selection will be carried out by the Manager of PRES1 with the suggestions of AEGEE Academy and PRWG, based on the criteria specified in the "participants profile" section. The selected participants will be informed directly by October 12th 2009

What will we be doing?

PRES I, Public Relations European School, is a one week training designed for potential and present PR activists on local level of AEGEE.

Public Relations European School

It aims at giving the participants the necessary tools and theories todesign a sound PR strategy for an AEGEE branch.

During the mornings the participants will take part in lectures andworkshops, which focuses on providing them the theoretical backgroundthat they will be able to use during the simulations carried out inthe afternoon. Participants of the event get trained in both internaland external public relations becoming qualified to handle the publicrelations activities needed in an AEGEE branch.

The fields of training include:

- designing a PR strategy for an AEGEE branch and for a project
- strategic partners of an NGO on local level
- building an image and corporate identity,
- human resources and public relations management
- types of media and media relations
- presentation techniques
- making powerpoint presentations
- creating promotion materials
- designing webpages

Website and Participant Applications Open

With the opening of the oficial website of the Public Relations European School in the AEGEE Academy website, the application process for participants has also been opened and if you are one of those who waits until the last minute, deadline is in a month, the 3rd of October.

Take your time to complete the application and show us what tipe of box you are. And remember, be creative!
